China Announces the Reduction of Tariffs Imposed on U.S. Origin Goods

On February 6, 2020, the China Tariff Commission announced the reduction of tariffs imposed on U.S. origin goods as part of the implementation of the Phase One Economic and Trade Agreement between the Government of the United States and the Government of the People’s Republic of China.

The affected products were under 1717 subheadings with either 5% or 10% additional duties originally effective on September 1, 2019. According to announcement No. 1, 2020 from the China Tariff Commission, the previous 5% additional duties will be adjusted to 2.5%, and the previous 10% additional duties will be adjusted to 5%.

The reductions will be effective February 14, 2020.
