– Domestic Mail Services

Here are the service details of Domestic Mail Services:
1. Document Types

  • Letters

  • News Paper & Periodicals

2. Delivery time: 2-3 days depending upon the distance and communication of destination|
3. Registration makes the transmission of an article more secure
4. Fees

  • In addition to the postage a fee of Tk. 4.00 will be charged for the registration of any postal article .

5. Cases when registration compulsory

  • Any parcel exceeding 5.00 kg in wt. And all air parcels
  • Any insured article
  • Any parcel addressed to a place for which a customs declaration is required
  • Any article containing postage or other stamps or labels or the like
  • Any article bearing the word “registered” or any other word, phrase or mark to the like
  • Any value payable (VP) article

01. Literature for the Blind: Free (If send by Air Mail air surcharge to be paid)
02. Late fee: Zero
03. Registration fee: 52.00 taka (For each Registration letter 0.50 SDR is paid to delivery country)
04. Insurance fee (For all kind of Article):
(a) TK. 20.00 For value not exceeding TK. 500.00
(b) TK. 10.00 For every additional TK. 500.00 or fraction thereof over upto TK. 10,000.00
05. Fees for withdrawal from the post or alteration or correction or redirection: TK. 40.00 (In addition, the sender should pay Air Surcharge or Sea fright & Transit charge as appropriate)
06. Notice for non delivery fee (only for parcel):TK. 25.00
07. Fees for presentation to customs: Letter post TK. 25.00, Parcel TK. 100.00
08. Acknowledgement of delivery fee of registered articles:
     Bhutan, India, Nepal, and Pakistan: TK. 10.00
     Other Asian countries: TK. 20.00
     Oceania and Australia: TK. 25.00
     Africa and Europe: TK. 25.00
     North and South America: TK. 30.00
09. Repackaging charge: (For each parcel and applicable if Repackaging is necessary) 40.00 taka
10. Storage Fee:TK. 8.00 per day subject to a maximum of TK. 750.00 only
