Australia Post marks 150 years since the birth of one of Australia’s early literary greats, Henry Lawson (1867–1922), with the release of a new stamp issue.
Australia Post Philatelic Manager, Michael Zsolt said, “The stamps recognise the genius of Henry Lawson through two of his much-loved stories: The Drover’s Wife, and Mitchell: A Character Sketch“.
A poet and short fiction writer, Lawson is remembered more for his stories than his verse, though he had many poems published during his lifetime.
