Local Letter Mail Rates and Weights
All items are sealed and include greeting cards. The limits of size are in length is 900 mm width and depth combined, the greatest dimension not to exceed 600 mm. In all cases, in the form of a roll, the length and twice the diameter combined may not exceed 1040 mm and the greatest dimension 900 mm.
The minimum size for envelopes is 90 mm x 140 mm but smaller size packets may still be sent if pro-vided with an address label measuring at least 70 mm x 100 mm.
The weight is in 50 grams increment starting at a rate of $0.50 and increases by $0.35 for each addi-tional 50 gram increment up to 2 kilograms maximum.

Locally Printed Paper Rates and Weights
Printed impressions consisting of copies produced on paper, parchment, card, by means of letterpress printing, engraving, lithograph, photocopying, computer or laser printing or other readily recognizable mechanical process of material classified as commercial advertising, publicity, price lists, newspapers, books and periodicals, wrapped or unwrapped up to 5 kilograms. No Greeting Cards at this rate.
The weight is in 50 grams increment starting at a rate of $0.40 and increases by $0.20 for each additional 50 gram increment up to 5 kilograms maximum.

Local Parcel (Small Packet) Rates and Weights
Local Parcel (Small Packet) is merchandise or material other than paper products for transmission within the island of Bermuda. Material must not contain prohibited contents as listed in Regulations.
Paper products must be sent via Letter Mail or Printed Paper rate. If material is over 5 kilograms client could contact Bermuda Post Office, Operations Manager for additional local services.
The weight is in 50 grams increment starting at a rate of $0.75 and increases by $0.50 for each addi-tional 50 gram increment up to 5 kilograms maximum.

Local National Flyer Class Mail
All items must be identical in nature. Weight per item up to 50 grams. Minimum quantity to all residents and or businesses in geographical location is 500 pieces. Sender must have a valid Pre-paid Postage Indicia displayed on flyer. Printed impressions, unsealed, addressed to “Occupier”; consisting of single/multiple sheet folded of copies produced on paper, parchment, card or similar material by means of letterpress printing, engraving, lithograph, photocopying, computer or laser printing or other readily recognizable mechanical process. Relating to Bermuda, consisting of commercial or social advertising, where content description is for; gain, publicity, price lists, coupons or like material may go at reduced rates of $ 0.15 locally, with the approval of the Bermuda Post Office.

All mail sent as airmail should bear the words “Airmail” on the front of the item. This service may be used for taped messages, personalized direct mail shots and for packets up to 2 kg in weight. Please write “Airmail Letter” clearly on the outside of these packets.
Airmail Printed Paper Rates and Weights
Printed paper up to 2 kilograms is books, newspapers and periodicals consisting of material made by impressions consisting of copies produced on paper, parchment, card, by means of letterpress printing, engraving, lithograph, photocopying, computer or laser printing or other readily recognizable mechani-cal process of material classified as commercial advertising, publicity, price lists, newspapers, books and periodicals, wrapped or unwrapped up to 2 kilograms. No Greeting Cards at this rate. Item should be marked “Airmail Printed Paper.”
The weight is in 50 grams increment starting at a different rate depending on Airmail Zone Matrix for destination country and increases by different increments depending on zone for each additional 50 gram increment up to 2 kilograms maximum.

Airmail Film and Small Packets Rates and Weights
Film or Small Packet up to 1 kilograms is merchandise (although some countries only allow up to 500g, check with foreign postal administrations for weight limits to avoid recipient being charge for any short postage cost). Small Packets over 1 kg use Parcel Rates. It is recommended to use string or clear plastic bags to secure items.
The weight is in 50 grams increment starting at a different rate depending on Airmail Zone Matrix for destination country and increases by different increments depending on zone for each additional 50 gram increment up to 1 kilograms maximum.
Zone 1 – Starts at 50 grams at $1.00 and increments at an additional $0.80 for each additional 50 grams.

International Parcel Service
The contents of all parcels must be declared to customs by the sender. Customs forms are available at all Post Office counters and must be completed by the customer before having parcel(s) weighed.

International Data Express Service
International Data Express is a global postal product with over two hundred-member countries participation to ensure the timely delivery of your most important documents or merchandise. International Data Express items leave Bermuda the next working day via air to three major destinations (USA, UK and Canada) for further delivery globally, if required. The size limits for International Data Express (IDE) is 1.05 m length and 2 m length and girth combined. The contents of all IDE must be declared to customs by the sender. Customs forms are available at all Post Office counters and must be completed by the customer before having IDE(s) items weighed. Please check destination country’s Customs information on prohibited items via post.
Weight increments starts at 500 grams and increments by 250 grams up to 20 kilograms maximum for different rates depending on direct ship to the USA, Canada, UK or via transit country being either the USA Transit or UK Transit. To calculate rate based on destination country outside of the direct countries, use the Parcel and IDE Transit Matrix to establish country’s shipping route via USA or UK Transit in calculating rates.
USA Direct – Starts at 500 g at $35.00 and increments at an additional $4.00 for each additional 250 g.
Canada Direct – Starts at 500 g at $35.00 and increments at an additional $4.00 for each additional 250 g.
UK Direct – Starts at 500 g at $38.50 and increments at an additional $4.50 for each additional 250 g.
USA Transit – Starts at 500 g at $38.00 and increments at an additional $4.25 for each additional 250 g.
UK Transit – Starts at 500 g at $55.00 and increments at an additional $6.25 for each additional 250 g.

Local or International Registered Mail Service
This service is only suitable for letters and packets containing items of little or no monetary value (unless privately insured).
The cost in addition to local or international postage rates is $2.50. Maximum letter weight local and international is 2 kg – if over 2 kg internationally use international parcel service rates.

Advice of Delivery
This service is only available for local or international registered items. The charge is $2.50 and you should request this service at the time of posting.
Inquiry Fee
If you need to make a formal enquiry about loss, damage or extreme delay to a letter or parcel you should fill in form PO 58 available from any Post Office.

WARNING - Important Information Regarding Sending Cash or Valuables
Do not to send cash, financial instruments or other valuables through the mail. Such items may not arrive at destination or arrive minus contents and be cleverly resealed. The Bermuda Post Office does not accept liability for any loss caused by theft, damage, or late delivery.
International Registered Mail Service
The Bermuda Post Office has received numerous client complaints regarding excessive delays, non-delivery and loss of International Registered Mail items. The maximum international delivery period for registered items is up to six weeks. Inquiries for lost or delayed items will only proceed six weeks from posting and may take up to a further six weeks for a response from foreign administrations, with the possibility of the receipt of little to no information regarding the item. The Bermuda Post Office recommends to our valued customers to consider using International Data Express Services for your important documents and merchandise.
